I have downloaded the trial version of amember and after a few atempts to install it I have given up (for now anyway).

After running the setup php, I got as far as initial configuring, naming msql etc, and then got confussing messages regarding the config.inc file. Downloaded new file (renamed it as instructed) and uploaded it. Then it was there and shouldn't have been (instructed to delete content of the file) etc.

Then I eventially got a message saying that the index.php was currupted.

Started all over again, with the same problems.

Am I missing something? All php files where ftp'd in binary, and permissions set as instructed in the user manual.

    Any advice would be appriciated

    Thanks
    Adrian

If aMember reports file is corrupted, there can be 2 reasons:
    - file was not uploaded in BINARY mode
    - you have very old version of Zend Optimizer or ionCube Loader installed to php.ini

    still not working

    Hi Alex,

My provider has upgraded the iconcube loader as requested, but I still cannot install. Once I get passed the config_inc change, I get a blank page with no further activity. It seems i am doomed to failure unless I am missing something simple.

I know that I am only using the trial, but I want to see if it will suit my organisations requirements before a purchase.

I am a bit frustrated with the install now. I have emailed the problem to support, but maybe it is not to be for me.

Your product does look great and hopefully I might resolve the issue sometime.

If any other user has had this problem and overcome it, then it would be useful to here from them

    Thanks

    Adrian

I had the same problem... about blank pages... something wrong was with uploaded files... with ftp client. Then i extracted the zip file from web hosting's Cpanel and everything went ok...
