    Hi Alex or Alexander,

You have helped me out many times in the past and thought that this time i would ask this question through the forums, because i am sure that many other amember users feel that this question comes up at some point in their learning process. So here is the question:

First of all i have setup a 14 day trial to my membership site.

Now in the settings for this product i have setup as follows:

    Product: 14 day trial

    Price: $2.00

    period: 1m

    1st trial period: 14 days

    1st trial price: $0.00
    -------------------
When a member signs up for this at Pay Pal it goes through as a nornal payment, but when the 14 day period expires it then processes the payment for the $2.00 but in the control panel of the user it shows that it has taken 2 payments and leaving a figure of $4.00.

Am i right in saying that the way i have set up the product, it is correct? or is it wrong?

You see i want to give a 14 day trial and then if the subscriber hasn't canceled their subscription during the 14 days it will then take a payment for a 1 month membership of $2.00. But when this payment has been completed i want amember to then show the users subsciption as a 1 month full membership to get full access to the site, but the subscription still shows as a 14 day trial product which gives only the minimum amount of acess to the subscriber.

What i have had to do is to manualy change the subscription product from the 14 day trial to the full 1 month membership.

Do i have to keep doing it this way or can amember handle this and if so can you please give an explanation of how this is done.

Please do not ask me to submit this to the help desk, because if you can answer this hear i am sure it will stop all of the other amember users from asking you the same question over and over. Surley it makes sense to answer this so that you have more time to do what you do! instead of answering these same questions over and over.

Thanx for your help in advance, alex!

P.S. You are doing a fantastic job with this script, keep up the good work.

    regards,
    Dave

Which aMember Pro version are you using? What is setting for "Is Recurring?" in product settings?

    Please contact support via helpdesk.

Described situation should not happen, subscripton expiration date for PayPal recurring subscription must be set (by aMember) to Dec/31/2012. There was a bug in 2.3.2 related with this issue, I guess your website was affected.

    re:expiration date?

    Thanx Alex,

I suppose i will have to go through the help desk, although i was hoping we could fix this here.

But i have one small niggling question to ask! If the date should be set by amember to Dec/31/2012 will this show up in the members control panel or will it show the correct date for the subscription to expire. Because if it doesn't show the correct date for the member, how is he supposed to know when to cancel for before the 14 day trial expires so that he is not charged for the continuation of his subscription?

    Dave
P.S. I will submit this now to the help desk and when i have it sorted, if i can do it without the intervention of Alex or Alexander i will report back for others to use what i have found out to be the cause.
