Curious to know if I can turn off email confirmation / validation for certain types of registrations. For example, if they are type 3, they don't need to confirm their email. Not sure if it is all or nothing with amember and it might be. I just want to make it easier for a group of visitors who I know will be interested in spending money from having to wait for email confirmations, etc. and want to get them started asap. The rest can wait and confirm. :)

Interesting idea. I know it can be set product based with a hack in 3.x
are you using 3 or v4?

David - I have ideas for great products like you wouldn't believe. ;)

I'm currently using 3, will be moving eventually to 4 and also integrating this wonderful Xenforo forum.

It is possible and easy in version 4.
Use aMember Cp -> Forms Editor
You create a signup form for first group of products, keep it to not require email confirmation.
Then you create another signup form for second group of products, click "Configure..." on "Email" brick, and check box "Validate e-mail address".
    Save.
    Use.
You can see it in action on our website (logout to see)
http://www.amember.com/amember/signup - paid order form, without annoying confirmations
http://www.amember.com/amember/signup/index/c/Zsf73IvPr - "free" signup form, for forum/helpdesk access

As a follow up to this older post. Is it possible to accomplish this with just using one sign-up form? An example would be if the sign-up form has two options:
    1. Basic Free Membership (No Payment Required)
    2. Premium Membership (Payment Required)
I would like to configure it so that the free users (Basic Free Membership) have more validation steps to prevent unwanted spammers from signing up. However, the people that are willing to pay (Premium Membership) would not need to do those extra steps, since they would be making their payment online via PayPal.
    Please advise.

    Thank you.

No this can't be done in one form.
You have to create separate form for each product.
