Hello, I am new here so bear with me...

I have recently taken over the running of a site from another webmaster. We had Amember working along with Mambo with the mambo plugin, and recently upgraded mambo to Joomla, and installed the Joomla plugin.

A few things have been confusing me. For starters, in the configuration>Joomla the Joomla DB and prefix is listed as: website_com_-_mambo`.mos_ - surely this should be a .jos extension? However, putting this in renders an error message, whilse this one doesn't. I have logged into My SQL to check, and it seems the joomla database is still using the .mos extension. Not sure why?

Also within the Amember database itself there are mos_ tables that relate to older mambo content that no longer exists in the new Joomla installation.. Does amember copy mos_ tables over to its database, or does it use the Jooma/mambo database?? I am just a bit confused by all of this, and wondered if this has been upgraded wrongly?

Because you upgrade to Joomla from Mambo. However, it does not matter at all and has no relation to aMember.

aMember does not need any old/copy tables to work. Try to backup, then remove these tables.

    Thanks for your response.

Which tables are safe to delete. Also, the mambo looking tables that lie in the Amember database - what are they for? Are they old tables no longer needed?
