I'd appreciate any help you can provide. I opened a support ticket with CGI Central but from other people's comments here I don't think they'll get back to me very quick. I had a trial installed and running fine. I then upgraded to PRO. I followed the instructions I found in the FAQ. I upgraded the new files then upgraded the license key and everything. However when I try and access any amember pages I get: Payment plugin error I tried removing all the payment plugins too and only uploading the ones that I need. - Ben Fitts
Are you having difficulties getting to admin as well as public pages? If you can get into admin I would try disabling all of the plugins (all of them) and see if you can get to the user section.. if you can, enable them one at a time and test to see which one was causing you problems..
I cannot get into ANY amember page including admin. I even tried to look in the database to see if I could disable plugins but couldn't figure out how to do it.
Have you tried deleting EVERYTHING amember related from your server/site and then downloaded latest version from amember site and upload to your server - observing the upload in binary mode. Your post suggests you uploaded updated files only. Regarding your comment regarding amember support it might be better if you wait and base on actual response times rather than hearsay. Whenever I have contacted support I have always received response within 24 hours even in cases where I was trying to add features to the program. Support might be a tad longer over weekend periods but have a heart and remember you probably don't work 24 hours a day 7 days a week for your employer!!
I don't want to comment on support because they do not meet my expectations. Maybe my expectations are to high The problem is the Aweber plugin. In the lite/trial version the Aweber plugin worked fine. In the pro version it breaks everything. Here is what I did to figure it out. I dropped all the amember tables from my database. I reuploaded ALL the pro files. I deleted my config file. I ran setup again. I created one product. I then began enabling plugins. When I got to Aweber it broke with the same error message as before. Apparently I didn't read the instructions close enough that said remove that folder. I wish there had been an easier way to fix this such as editing some file to turn off the aweber plugin.... Oh well.
Same problem, no aweber I am experiencing the same problem but only put in products, never plugins before upgrading to paid version.
My solution I broke my entire aMember by enabling a protect plugin (wordpress) for which I hadn't purchased a paid version. Could access any aMember page (application or admin). What worked for me was to go to the plugin folder (for me plugins/protect/wordpress), move both config.inc.php and wordpress.inc.php to backup files (e.g. wordpress_bak.inc.php), and create an empty wordpress.inc.php. With this, aMember was able to include the wordpress.inc.php file (even though it does nothing), and then I was able to access the admin interface to disable the plugin. Hope this helps someone.
Same error I upgraded from the trial to the PRO and I got the same error with the aweber plugins not being available: Here's a screenshot: Please let me know what to do.
