I have uploaded the amember files numerous times. I checked the FTP log and it says the files were transferred as Binary, but i keep getting an error.

The install went fine, then trying to access any pages I see .......

" /filename.php has been uploaded in ASCII (text) FTP transfer mode and is broken. Please re-upload file in BINARY mode. "

i tried with both wsftp le and smartFTP with special attention to the transfer mode making sure it was set to Binary. Weird.

Anyone have any ideas? This is the first time in 5 years i've seen this error.

Are you using the demo files or did you buy it?

I also tried the demo but had the same problem and they said I had to use the full version and they have no demo for it.

I have not bought it yet as they were not too helpful on the help ticket but guess I have no choice if they have no demo.

    I solved this problem !!

It's not said in the installation process, by you must have Zend Engine and Zend Optimizer.
But Zend Optimizer work with PHP 5.2.x and not with PHP 5.3.x.

    So my configuration is :
    - Linux Apache MySQL PHP on my local server for tests.
    Apache 2.2.8
    MySQL 5.0.51
    PHP v5.2.4
    Zend Engine v2.2.0
    Zend Optimizer v3.3.9
    ***********************************
I have quite the same problem.
I use localhost linux server with all the requirement and always the same :
    Apache, MySQL, IonCube ...

If i try with Zend it's the same...

File ...ASCII (text) FTP transfer mode and si broken.
Please re-upload file in binary mode
