Hi all, I upgraded and installed latest version of aMember - all seemed to work fine. my problem is that I upgraded and setup in a new folder. Am using PayPal Pro with recuring billing -- so users get a free trial --the payments are initially being recorded fine in amember (for the free period) but when the payment is actually made, PayPal is sending Payment "notification" to my older install of Amember... so that when recuring occurs, the account in the new install says that it is expired -- eventhough they paid.... HOW DO I FIX THAT??? Thank you.
I believe it was in my IPN setting, in my paypal account? it used to point to: http://www.my website .com/amember/plugins/payment/paypal_pro/ipn.php and I changed it to http://www.my website .com/NEW INSTALL/plugins/payment/paypal_pro/ipn.php should that fix things??
Just to be on the safe side, look through the settings in your aMember administration area and see if there are any remnants of the old folder listed. If not, then it would seem the PayPal IPN settings may have been the issue.
Hey power, thank you -- hope you are right.... I have to manually change the dates of these new members now... do I make the date "random" i.e. for example 2025 (so that they keep getting rebilled -- untill they cancel?) or do I have to manually figure out each date for each? also, people who signed up, let's say yesterday, will they have the same problem, or should it now be automatically "fixed?" THANKS!
how do I fix all the records ?? this is crazy.. i mean why the f.. doesn't amember provide accurate and specific information about upgrade and setup...this is so ridiculous....always the same crap....
To be fair you can hardly blame aMember for your own actions, or rather, lack of them! I have upgraded several times with no problems following their supplied upgrade route instructions. You try to upgrade to new version but also setup in a new folder and wonder why it doesn't work afterwards. You can hardly blame aMember if you change directories but don't bother to do the job properly!!
And if they actually told you that you needed to do that when changing folder names... you can look at their instructions, and nowhere does it mention anything about doing that... and I am still waiting for their answer on how to fix this...
"You can hardly blame aMember if you change directories but don't bother to do the job properly!!" -- I asked them what needed to be done, and they never mentioned changing IPN settings in Paypal... so that is BS...
