Maybe I just have this set up wrong, but I don't see how to let the admin act like a user. I can't even go to the forum (which is protected by amember).

registering disallows the same username and then if I use a different user name, i don't have admin login ability in the forum (SMF).

I would assume the admin should be able to go anywhere and do anything on the site without logging in as a user.

Any idea what needs to be changed?

I'm not familiar with SMF but with phpbb3 i would create a product in amember called admin with phpbb3 admin privelages, and then add that product to my username that I use to create content.

    David,
Thanks, for the reply. I guess if I created an amember user and made him the admin of SMF it would work fine. I was just trying to avoid having two logins. I often want to be amember admin and forum admin at the same time and it just seemed crazy that amember does not consider the admin to be a super user ( in terms of privileges). If I'm the boss, I don't want to run into locked doors in my own building.

I'll see what I can do using your suggestion if Alex does not provide any feedback to fix it.

Admin and User accounts in Amember are different entities altogether so Yes you will need to create a second account (or non-recommended approach of hacking Amember :-p)
