While it may be more practical in using a shopping cart, but is anyone using Amember for sales of downloadable digital products such ebooks or website scripts?
This is what I originally came to aMember for -- as a checkout process / digital download protector. For a period of about 3 years, I had converted my business to a shopping cart thinking that it would facilitate larger purchases of multiple items. I recently converted the shopping cart site back to aMember to offer fewer choices of larger packages of digital products. Early tests indicated this to be more profitable, however, more data is needed before I can make a firm determination on this.
@Softstor: Similar story to powerkeys. I've been using aMember on a number of sites I support since 2003. We also went the route of converting sites to a shopping cart (Magento) only to come back to the simplicity and reliability of aMember on most of the sites. Our testing supported Alan's notion that we saw better sales with less options (read predictably irrational). We created a small number of logical bundles (similar to Alan's bronze/silver/gold/platinum) which has been fairly successful for us. Ken Gary is doing some great in the aMember space, the upsell stuff he has is magic.. might be a good compromise instead of a full blown shopping cart.
