Hello. Here's the plan: I'm doing some training video courses. I'm covering different software subjects and each subject include, say, 20 videos. I want to make each subject available for my customers so they can buy any subject training they want, one by one. I'm using one page (not posts) for each subject and its videos. I've seen other people selling stuff using Wordpress and aMember but all of them are using the "silver-gold-platinum" scheme. So, silver can see only silver, gold can see gold and silver and platinum can see all. I'm not interested on this way of user permissions. I simply want a user to buy a course (or subject) and access only that Wordpress course page and nothing more, unless they buy another one (so they can access two or more courses with the same user name and password). Users must be able to access only to the stuff they have brought without taking account of "user levels". Is this possible with aMember? If so, what do i need to buy and do?
Another consideration... Is a blogging platform the best engine for selling online courses? You might want to consider using a true online course delivery system. Integrations are available for Moodle and eFront.
Tutman, also consider if you need to protect the whole page or just the video itself? If all you care about is protecting the video, you can leave the pages unprotected and put the videos each in their own protected folders (protected based on individual products)
@ gswaim: Moodle and eFront is overkill for my purposes. These platforms are for eLearning and i just want my members to be able to see videos and nothing else. I'm not using grades, tests, etc. Thanks for your insight tho, I may use those platforms on other project. @skippybosco: I will try your idea. Thanks.
You may also want to consider using the incrmental content plugin, so if you are using recurring billing, they get access to the lessons on a schedule. David
