Sure possible, but aMember should be used as main database.
    Users should signup/login thorugh aMember.

    Alright.
Currently I am using Wordpress and vBulletin with existing content and members.
I also using several usergroups (created with a plugin) on Wordpress and vBulletin. Can I connect e.a.:

Usergroup 'writers' (Wordpress) with usergroup 'registered members' (vBulletin)?

I believe you would set aMember users that register in the vBulletin plugin .. you define which group they go in to.

    aMember Admin > Setup / Config > vBulletin 3

    (Yes, vBulletin 3)

make sure that's setup correctly.. then in your packages you set which groups the users go in to.

Also in the WordPress plugins you'll need to setup permissions <3 lol

Sure you can do this. But process will not be easy. You will need to import all your users into aMember, and unfortunately you will have to change all passwords for all users.
this will work only if usjers will be managed by aMember.
