Hi there - We're using vBulletin on our aMember site, and just recently started getting spammers who bypass our membership sign-up and register as a user ONLY on the vBulletin part of the site. Then they start posting inappropriate content. I did some research over on the vBulletin site, and several people are suggesting that to keep this from happening, we should set up a captcha or question for them to answer. HOWEVER, I'm wondering if this would cause any problems when new members sign up via aMember and their forum account is created by aMember? Anybody have experience with this? Thanks! Cynthia
@championsedge: couple of options to consider: 1) The aMember vBulletin plugin includes an optional product that can be installed into vB that routes signup (and login) requests to your aMember signup / login. This would allow you to centralize all of your registrations via aMember. 2) Site/Niche specific questions (ie. not a "what is 1+1" style question but rather something tailored to the topic of your site) performs better than Captcha in my experience and much better than nothing
