    To be honest, I don't understand what are you going to see in frontend. All changes are only visible in back-end.

    ok, i was hoping to see how the htaccess integrates with vB login system.. that's my main concern, due to the billing processors i use

    There is single-login without htpasswd possible when you use aMember with vB - it works really nice.

    As I said, there is "new_rewrite" protection method, that will provide HTML login form and protect your files.
