vBulletin 3 plugin finally fixed and released. It has been tested with "vBulletin Version 3.0.0 Release Candidate 2".
Following Error: I am getting the following error on my Amember/VB3 install.. The DB is housed on a different machine then the web server, however, the amember db and vb db are housed on the same server. MYSQL ERROR: You have an error in your SQL syntax. Check the manual that corresponds to your MySQL server version for the right syntax to use near ')' at line 4 in query: UPDATE xxxxxx.user SET password='93e1a135844a4bf97c70fb5276bec2d0', usergroupid=12, salt='Ft;' WHERE username='xxxxxx' AND usergroupid NOT IN () Any idea why?
1. Please download latest vB3 plugin (it is now available from members area, published a hour ago) and upgrade. 2. Go to aMember Cp -> Setup -> vBulletin3, choose at least one value for "Denied levels" (you should at least protect your admin accounts!) and click Save button.
What does this plugin give us that vb3 doesn't already do? or amember in that case? vB3 supports paid subs with paypal and others. Just curious cause I have AM for vb2
If you're completely satisfied with vB3 payment/subscription processing, then you really don't need it.
alex have found with the plugin that the users not not show up in the memberlist, welcome out newest member "whatever" nor does the member count go up. As I have discussed this with some other members it does not do this intill you actually edit a filed in the admin cp of vb3. Then the member is recognized. It is missing something somewhere. Thanks
Confused I have purchased amember and the vbulletin plugin. Both are installed and running on my server along vBulletin. In addition to the vBulletin user dB I have an access dB with a list of my organization's (paid) mambers. I want to add these members to aMember via import. When I do so, I want to check the imported members against those in the vBulletin dB. If a user in the imported dB has the same eMail as a user in the forum dB I want to apply the forum dB user name to that user, if not, I want to create a new user in the vBulletin dB for that new user. Hopefully I'm making sense... Is there an automated process that will allow me to do this? Does the plugin actually do this. Everything I;ve read points to scenarios when adding individual users, not a batch import. Thanks in advance
Plugins does something like this, but it checks by usename, not by e-mail, so duplicate records could be created.
Everything seems to be running fine for me using aMember and VB3.0 so far but I do have two questions; The user titles do not seem to change to the new group. I have "Sponsor Member" entered in the VB pullin section but they continue to display "regular member" after subscribing. Is there another setting that needs to be adjusted somewhere? Many users are complaining that their current user names are declared "invalid" by amember and are forced to enter a new one. Once they do that they can no longer access their previous posts and photo. These are not unusual names and contain only letters and numbers. What causes the invalid message?
Regarding user titles, it is to be fixed in the plugin. Regarding second issue, all username, password and email they are entering into aMember signup form must match with parameters from VB3 database. Else they will get message that account name is not available.
Has the title issue been fixed? Priveet Alex, This title bug would prevent us from purchasing aMember. Modifying the forum title tags manually defeats the object of having the vBulletin plug-in. Is this an issue that can/will be resolved shortly? Cheers, Herby
Herby, if you order aMember Pro with the vB plugin, we will implement this feature within 24 hours. Just contact support@cgi-central.net
We'll let you do it for 40 bucks Alex, No offence, but it makes more sense for that function to be in there prior to purchase. Having wasted several months going down the DreamAccount route and having to hack, wait, hack wait and wait some more, I'd prefer to purchase something that works right from the word go. I'm not prepared to waste another hour waiting. While I'm sure you are very busy, the mod should only involve adding the title variable. We could probably do it ourselves, but for $40, we'd be happy to give you the chore. See you at your cash register! Cheers, Herby
