I am trying to set up aMember on my localhost. I have downloaded and extracted aMember 3.1.9 to my wamp installation folder. When I run setup.php I go through the steps of installation, but when I click on "Next" on step 3 of the installation the server hangs and is constantly "Waiting for localhost...". This is even more bizarre when you consider that 5 minutes earlier I installed it successfully in exactly the same conditions. The time it successfully installed I tried to login to my admin panel. All I got was an entire page of depricated function error reports and no admin panel. My questions are: Why did it install once and then not work the second time? Before anyone asks: I cleared the database of ALL tables and did a totally fresh installation. It should have worked exactly as it did the first time. How can I actually see my admin panel past all the deprecated function errors?
Thank you. Support were excellent on this issue and stuck with me until it was solved. I don't know if I can post the solution, I will leave it up to the support team.
The problem was in php bug with crypt function on Windows servers. http://bugs.php.net/bug.php?id=51167 Even if above link say it was fixed, issue still exists on 5.3.2 We fixed this for aMember in SVN so next versions will have fix. If anyone also have the same issue on windows installations please contact us in helpdesk.
