Now that the above is a reality, has anyone developed a plugin for it? I opened a ticket on this but the answer I got was that there were plans but no timescales. This is a route I want to go down as I think the PayPal account requirement is putting off a lot of potential members for my site.

Can the plugin be integrated without violating any copyright stuff in the main scripts?

If so and there's one for sale please let me know. Otherwise it's back to rentacoder.com!

In case anyone else is thinking of using WPP recurring billing function:

I've just got off the phone with PayPal. Basically, if you're an existing customer with WPP then you'll need to wait until your version is upgraded to the new one that works with recurring billing. This is an ongoing project that'll take a few weeks to complete. They couldn't give any definite dates. New customers will get the new version immediately (how's that for looking after your long-standing clients?!). Old customers can't cancel and re-register as new ones either so that loophole doesn't exist.

Can anyone recommend a payment system for a UK resident that allows the worldwide processing of credit and debit cards that'll support recurring monthly fees? I know amember has a list of the ones with plugins, but I'd like to know if anyone can recommend a reliable solution from their own experience.

    Thanks in advance.

    Hi Dave,

    How about Nochex and Moneybookers?

I've used worldpay for my Japanese site. They are based out of the UK I believe. They are ok, a little expensive for startup fees, but they allow you to customize their payment screens to match your site.
