Hi - I didn't really get a straight answer (or one I understood from PayPal), but here's the scenario: Say a person pays for a 1 year recurring subscription from PayPal on January 1 and then they decide to cancel it anywhere in that year, say Dec 30 - do they get refunded all their money back and I, as the owner of the website, get nothing? I can't seem to find where there would be a time limit set for cancelations? Would it be different for a non-recurring subscription? I am trying to decide which is better, I don't want to chase people down to get them to renew, but don't want them snatching the money from me to "timely" cancel subscriptions in advance.
Hmmm... I may not be understanding you but the scenario you describe sounds more like a refund than just a cancelation?? I may be offtrack but I would think a cancelation would just stop them from being automatically rebilled. Their membership would continue to be active until the term they paid for expired then would end because the rebilling had been canceled.
If customer cancels subscription in PayPal, he only cancels FUTURE rebillings. All paid money still on your account, and user still have access until PAID period expires. Of course, there is no "Cancel" ability for not-recurring subscriptions. If you offer "no-hassle moneyback guarantee", it is completely other situation. But in this case, YOU handle it all manually, on your own decision.
