Hi Guys - I'm following this guide http://www.amember.com/p/integration/new-wordpress-plugin/#installation to use amember with worpdress, I have uploaded the plugin but the guide states to go to amembercp? I'm in the admin area of amember but have no option for this?
Hi - Thanks for your reply, I have installed the software and activated the plugins On installation the manual states to go to Setup/Configuration but when I click this it takes me back to my own homepage! I cant add users and nothing works, uts great at redirecting me back to my homepage though
If you are starting this integration you should consider using V4. With V4 the WordPress integration is built into the core of aMember. It is a much better solution and it will be supported for the foreseeable future. V4 is in beta, but it is a track to be released as a stable version soon. The aMember team has stated in this forum that they wanted to release this week. You can also request access to the beta version. With aMember V4 there isn't really any WordPress documentation yet. The configuration is relatively intuitive, but documentation is a plus. I have volunteered to write the documentation and will jump on it as soon as it comes out of Beta. I should have it finished within a week or so of release.
Decided to request a refund due to the software being buggy, it's really not an out of the box bit of kit Thank you for your suggestion, ill try this one and hope for the best! If not we will request a refund
Tried version 4 and that's just as awful, this really is poor software! I have installed and added the database stuff, I have added wordpress as a plugin and put the config details from wp-config into the amember settings, and once again its still buggy and doesn't allow me to add users, when it does it states the user isn't found or the password details are wrong How can you sell something that is so buggy?
With respect there are many satisfied users of aMember around the world. Some handling many thousands of users. Have you thought that it might just be because of something you are doing (or not doing)? In order to produce some of the various sites a fair bit of customisation might well been carried out (I did with my own) but the software DOES work and it works 'out of the box'. Remember aMember is 'Membership Software' it is not a complete website in itself. Incidently have you posted anywher what version of aMember or Wordpress plugin you are trying to use? I cannot see that information and it might help anyone trying to think what might be going wrong with your site. There are several aMember/Wordpress experts on here. Sorry I am not one of them - do not use Wordpress on my own sites so can only off generalised help/observations.
I'm using the latest version of wordpress and v4 of amember! I completely understand that other users have 100s of customers who use this software but the ones I have spoken to have had to edit and hardcore the software. For me this has been nothing but hassle and I have wasted a whole day so I'm not that happy at all, if I log out of the software it tehn tells me that my passwords are wrong, half of the links in the admins do not work I'm sure its great software if you're willing to completely rewrite half of it, if we knew that then we would have looked at other options
My experience is that the aMember team will fix installation issues. First of all they offer free installation of aMember on your server, simply fill out a service ticket. Based on my experiences I suspect they would also make the WordPress configurations. However, this service is not offered 24/7. They offer week day support and they are located in Saratov Russia so if you are USA, they are working when you are sleeping. Also like gregatbizop said, aMember is a powerful and highly configurable script. Therefore it is not a solution that is mastered in a few hours, or even in a few days. If you want a simple to implement solution then there are plenty of WordPress plugins that can do that. However IMHO, their feature set can't touch the feature set of a WordPress site integrated with aMember. This software does work. I have used it for years on many different sites. You can see my WordPress site that is running this software @ digitalliteracyproject.com You did catch the product during a transition period as it approaches a major version release. The aMember crew is putting so much of its resources in wrapping up the release that the documentation is lacking. Actually this is a common problem with software development. The WordPress documentation should be in place within a couple of weeks. In the mean time you can get answers to your questions either here in the forums or via a service ticket.
Dear gregatbizop, can we schedule a Skype session for Monday to discuss all these issues? However, some questions can be discussed here if you wish. 1. It is simply impossible that half links in aMember admin panel are not working. Can you give any examples of URL that fails? I believe it is related with upload or unpacking error. Try to reupload. Make sure filename case is not broken by your ZIP unpacker. That is simply not something that could work for all customers and did not work for your website alone. If there is really any difficulities with upload, submit a free installation request and we will do it for you. 2. Regarding users not adding to Wordpress. There are several conditions must be met for user to be added to Wordpress: - wp integration must be configured at aMember CP -> Setup -> Wordpress - integration must be configured at aMember Cp -> Manage Content -> Integrations - user must have active access records (either you as admin go to user record -> Invoices and add access manually, or user must have payments processed to get access). Only these - active - user records are added to Wordpress. There are simply no reasons to add into Wordpress visitors who tried to subscribe, but failed to pay and leave.
Also, if you are using aMember Pro v4, please also use attached Wordpress plugin - it is located in the folder amember/application/default/plugins/protect/wordpress/upload_to_wordpress/ Disable old Wordpress plugin you may have found in this forum - it is for version 3, not for version 4. Version 4 has been released on this week, so there is little mess with documentation right now. We will be sorring this out ASAP.
A skype chat would be great to be honest my skype wannabiebhw I would like to get this working, I have removed it all from my host but ill reinstall ready for our chat
