I have had a recurring problem that happens to
random members (including myself when logging
    in).

    Here's whats happening:
when you go to the login page and enter an active
username and password you get this error message:
    http://www.doyougeek.com/error1.png

If you refresh the page it will sometimes pull through
and bring you to the members area - only problem is
it brings you to an empty members area where all the
content is gone. here's what that looks like:
    http://www.doyougeek.com/error2.png

How do I fix this? will the upgrade will fix this problem??
    and what's causing the problem?

    I wouldn't think so.

    Some questions though:

    1) Does that error1 show up right away or does it take a while to show? (trying to determine if it is a time out error or a routing/config/db issue.

    2) Is this a new site or established site (a lot of users, transactions, etc). Have you tried purging old data in Amember and optimizing the Tables in MySQL

    3) If you can reproduce, I would do a SQL trace to get a better idea of what is happening. If you don't know how to monitor SQL transactions, I would email your host and explain that you think you may have SQL connectivity issues and let them investigate (assuming such support is free)

    4) Do you point to localhost or a named server for your SQL Server name?

Are you using any add on plugins? Maybe a conflict between them?
